Since January 2005, Steven Jones-D’Agostino has provided marketing, business development, corporate-relations, media-relations and public-relations services to local and national clients, as principal of Best Rate Of Climb in Worcester, MA.

Steve has significant experience in marketing, business development, corporate relations, media relations and public relations as well as in public speaking and group presentations. He also has extensive experience in reporting, writing and editing articles on the banking, education, environment, finance, insurance, manufacturing, real estate, retail and technology industries.

Steve has more than 30 years of news-media and public-communications experience. For 12 years, he was Editor of Worcester Business Journal, Central Massachusetts’ and Metrowest’s oldest and largest business publication. During those years, WBJ won 16 national awards, including five for first place (one of them, for General Excellence), in the annual Editorial Awards competition of the Alliance of Area Business Publications in fields that included the Boston Business Journal, Crain’s Chicago, Crain’s New York, the Los Angeles Business Journal and the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Since 1995, Steve has hosted The Business Beat, Central Massachusetts’ only radio business-interview program. The 30-minute Q&A, which focuses on Central Massachusetts and Massachusetts business and economic development issues, is broadcast Sundays at 10 p.m. (Eastern) on WICN/90.5 FM, the NPR affiliate serving Central New England, and webcast simultaneously at WICN.org. Since 2004, Steve has served on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts as well as on the Support Team and Communications Work Group of Common Pathways, a “healthy communities” initiative for Greater Worcester. He moderated Common Pathways' First Community Forum in November 2005 and Second Community Forum in April 2006. From 1996 to 2004, he served on the Board of Directors of Regatta Point Community Sailing, was the board’s president from 2001 to 2002, and was the organization’s grant writer from 1998 to 2004.

Steve is a helmsman-rated sailor as well as a student pilot, having logged more than 30 hours of flight time in Cessna 152s.
